LFSd server
« on: June 07, 2008, 02:19:55 AM »
Hello all!

Looks like the forum is coming along nicely and people are really interested about this whole thing.
So this made me thinking that wouldn't it be a good idea to have our own LFS server for LFSd users where you could have sessions, _FRIENDLY_ competitions and just a place where you could chat around and mabye help others.

So I talked about this whit Keitaro and Proton last night and they thought it would be a nice idea. But there's this one thing... We don't have a server. Proton mention that he know someone who is selling a (max 45 slot) server for £5 per month. It wouldn't be that much, and IMHO it's rather cheap, but I don't think it would be a good deal for non-European users (Since the server is located in Europe??*correct if Im wrong*)...

Anyways, there's no point having a server if no body wouldn't use it, so that's why the poll. So please, vote what you think, and PLEASE post improvement ideas, you'r own thoughts etc. etc.

((If someone want to sponsor us, or just is willing to donate a server for LFSd, please contact Proton, Keitaro, Keith or me))

-Thanks
  Mic

Im sure people from this forum would use the server and 5bux a month sounds pretty cheap.
You can always give it a shot then pull the server down if it doesn't get used as much as u think it will.
Good luck

Ya, its actually nice idea. My team is renting server from http://storm-servers.net/games.htm
Server works very well, even for non-Europeans. Also support works good and fast.

Hey..

Well another thing is.. how laggy will it be ?

Heres the info
Quote
The server is located in Holland, we have a test server called www.storm-servers.net which is open 24/7. You are welcome to use it and test it out

The price is £5 (English Pounds) which is currently $9.85

So please go on LFS and connect to www.storm-servers.net and test it out.
Maybe we can get like 5-10 members in there at one time see how we drift.

Drifty' server(LFS-Host) are really good servers. The ping is so low that it's always in the top 5 servers on the list.Never experienced lag on these.

Matters on where do you live. I maybe can get 47 slots server for you guys for free, but it will be located in Slovakia (central Europe).
EDIT: Check out ping of server called ,,ANTIK LFS Action Drifting". How is it for you? Usually under 50 for me.
