Apologies
« on: February 21, 2010, 08:17:16 AM »
Hello everyone.

First, I wanted to be grateful for all the people who came yesterday to the qualification for Drift Motion. I would like to say thanks for your patience, not everyone would have waited so much time for doing his runs.

Second, I want to say sorry for all the mess which was caused due a guy from 500 Servers who didn't do the things that he was supposed to do. I talked to Dan and he told me that he wrote him long time ago for changing their .exe as soon as possible, but any reply was given.

I would like to say sorry as well because I didn't know that Vendetta would open a server by himself, I thought he bought it and he was going o lend it out to us. Yes, I'm an unwise, and Proton too (because he was the one who talked to Vendetta for having this backup). We should have tried out another server before instead of going blind with Vendetta's one. It was completely our fault and, at least I, say sorry. However we appreciate Vendetta's help.

We've done a lot of things, a lot of work has been done for bringing back the soul of good/friendly competitions in LFS... and all we have done is bother you guys up with a crappy server with 6 slots, laggy and in a hour which was impossible for many people.

Sorry once again, I apologize for all the inconveniences that this competition has brought to you.

Gorushi.

Actually, no problem. But there should be some kind of a, reserve qualification for those, who didnt get on. I think that would be fair.

No problem Goru,no problem at all.

And no Warlock, everybody had a change to get in that server,it was just that there's so many who signed up but never came. So its their own problem if they didnt have the time to come or didnt care  to come to the server yesterday.

It seemed like there was plenty of time to run.  the judges were in the server for over 2 hours.

And in those 2 hours there was plenty of time that they were just waiting for competitors.

Yes the server was laggy. but there was plenty of time to do your run.

You knew when you signed up that it wasnt a 2 day qualify. And you also knew the time. I dont see why a laggy server should changes this.

One suggestion would be a time frame of when to qualify.  Sure we know that it start at 4pm EST, but when exactly does it end?  When the judges are "done"?  When no one else joins?

Just as a reference, the WorX series had 3 hour brackets, one on saturday and one sunday.  After 3 hours the server would be locked (if someone was already in server they would be allowed to run).

It makes it easier for everyone overall IMO.  :)
