Hello.
Many of you seem to complain A LOT about organisation failure within mini comps and bigger championships such as the WORX competitions, and my own; The LFS EDC. Now the reason behind many organisation fails is due to you, the competitors yourselves. To recieve what you expect, near enough 100% perfection in organisation/running smoothness of an event you are participating in, read the list of things below...
> Watch the admins words: If someone of high rank (organisation) in the competition asks of something to be done, such as "Spectate", do so quickly without any fuss
> The judge is the judge: Not you, leave all scoring and techniques of scoring to the judge. Some events are judged differently to others, live with it.
> Obeying Rules: For instance, we at the LFS EDC have a major problem with people not obeying our "Sponsorbox Rule" of which to place the EDC sponsorbox on the side of their skins. This is not a rule set by us, but by the real european drift championship in order for us to use the name and run the competition with no hassle from real organisation/sponsors.
> Punctuality: If you are late to an event and have missed your qualifying run, do not argue if you are told you cannot run. This will result in either a kick, or no run at all as said. Be polite and ask nicely if you can run after everyone else has ran their qualifying run, then maybe you will have a chance to qualify to the twin runs.
> Practice: As i know, at the beginning of most events, drivers complain they have not ran the layout, and ask to do 1 or 2 practice runs. Be polite, and maybe you will be allowed. If you are not polite, you have no chance. The best way to avoid this is obvious to even the thickest of people... Practice before the event actually starts. Usually servers are open an hour or 2 before an event, this is for free practice.
>Organising Events: Before you organise an event, check it does not clash with any other events that have been organised before yours! (e.g: D1GP have organised they're round 2 on the same date as EDC organised they're qualifying round....)
> Kicking/Banning: ONLY Kick/Ban a contestant if there is a liable reason. For instance, If the comp is a French Only comp, state this when arriving into the server. (E.G: me and tom got kicked due to this, from the BK server... without telling us the problem).
It is ok if the other person is being a dick, but if other, state the reason why.
Aatu Says: DONT CHANGE YOUR NAME,it does help you to get past some guys in the list but its just so pathetic.
> Judging a competition by its cover notes: Many problems occur through things completely out of the organisers reach, such as judging in the EDC. If there are problems with the judging in my championship, ask the judges themselves, not me as i don't have a clue. Just remember, in some circumstances, if it wasnt for the judges, there would be no competition. (things like this make me think bad things about the drift community sometimes...)
Although it may not seem, as specially for people who have been running events for a while, Organising events is very time wasting and tricky. Everything from Sign On to actually running a successful event is tricky in its own way. Follow what i have said above and it will allow smoother organisation of events, quicker proceedings and more fun for you competitors.
If any organisers have points to add, reply with your idea and i will add them to the post.
