Yes, this is a rant...


As some of you may have noticed, LFS Team Orange's drift server has been revived from the death to host drifters once more.
There seems to be quite a lot of confusion regarding our way to run the server in question.

I just cannot understand people who start raging at us when we tell them to stop driving the wrong way or to follow any other of our quite simple rules.
Here's a snippet from logs, something we DO NOT want to see.

The goal of this server has always been to provide a clean environment to drift in. But to achieve that we need everyone to follow the rules we have laid out.

I'll try to explain some of them here.

Absolutely NO driving into wrong direction while on track
- Now this should be self explanatory. We don't care if you're not planning on crashing into anyone, but a crash is inevitable and you will be instantly banned on sight if we see you causing a crash while going the wrong way.

No Wrecking/Intentional crashing/whatever you call it
- Same as above

No speeding in the pitlane
- Self explanatory again. We have this nicely autoforced these days, so you can't even if you wanted to.

English only
- This clearly causes the most ***. We also started enforcing this only recently as we tried to perform a "soft" comeback with the server.
- It's only polite and considerate towards others to use a language that majority of this community can understand. It's sad that we have to enforce this as strongly as we do.
- During the busiest hours there's enough chat messages to have a proper hit on everyone's concentration. Getting the screen filled with text that only a few players on the server can understand isn't making things any better.

Keep the quickmessages to the minimum. Nobody wants to see your pointless spam.
- Really. We don't want to see the same message again and again and again. Sorry means nothing if you keep spamming it tens of times every lap and "funny" quickmessages stop being funny when they fill up the screen

Common sense required
- This could go on forever...

Don't be a moron
- Yeah...

If you get told to follow any of these, we don't want to hear that we have power or whatever gone to our heads and how the server and everything related to it f**king sucks.
We run this server for ourselves and for those who want a clean and moderated environment to drive in. If you can't deal with the way we run this, stay out. There are better servers for you.


ps. You can express your displeasure at things in other ways than calling the server/track/layout/whatever ****/gay/gayer. Your words have more weight if you don't go 100% stupid....
pps. We don't kick and ban people because we can, but because we have to. Believe it or not.

I have to agree, some people can't follow simple rules. I follow them without any effort.

I speak English even though it's not my first language and even if some dickhead make fun of my English because i use apostrophes (Replex if i remember right, i do realize you might be trolling). I still don't understand what was funny about it.

Some people get really arrogant (I know i do). I got called an ''asslicker'' because i told Ringnes that i watch all the videos he's featured in? What? He became a god while i wasn't there? First time i ever talk to him positively, i wanted to support a fellow drifter with kind words. Well it's pretty much the last time i do it, i almost puked.

Some other guy said: ''Don't act like a smartass, it doesn't suit you.'' Mostly because i made an ironic reference. Well you see, if you think i'm a smartass it's probably because i'm smarter than you and you just can't assimilate my words.

Some people might wonder why i troll or why i'm harsh, well in LFS nowadays if you're being nice and expect people to be nice with you in return, you're being really optimistic. But if you're nice with me it's unlikely that i'll be rude to you.

I hardly bother with maturity on internet, but please don't underestimate, you'll be disappointed. Some of you need to put themselves in perspective a bit.

This is pretty much my only complaint about the server, which is not really the server's fault.

I think these rules are just fine, it's not really hard to just drive around the track respecting these few rules mostly based on common sense.
