Difference between LFS years ago and LFS now.
« on: December 27, 2009, 03:29:43 AM »
Decided to make this thread for those people who missed the good ol' days of LFS. Post your own if you were there back then!

Years ago, everybody used cockpit. Now, people used hood view. (Yes, I use hood view too. Don't make a big deal out of it.)

Years ago, LFS was fun, where everybody got along and helped each other. Now, LFS is more of a competition based, where alter-ego takes place

Can't think of anymore. Post your own!

When LFS wasn't just about trying to get on a team... when it was just fun to drift.

Years ago, when LFS videos had reasonable music and just plain simple videos without flashy effects.
*Now, LFS Videos have plain dNb rubbish and stupid loads of effects from the starwars galaxy.

Years ago, when people just make videos for fun. Now, people make them for "e-reps".

Nice thread, everyone can say their honest opinions,

I guess the beginning of 2007 is good ol' days? I will still post my IMO. :)

Umm yeah, im with the same as you that LFS was much more fun back few years ago.

LFS (well dont know about the racing side) drifting is these days like that people try to get their name to be bigger, some try it from the side that they start to lick a**es,some try with the thing that their ego grows like a grass in your backyard and the rest of the people are just quiet, try nothing much more than they will get, step by step their names stay in us others minds.

Back 2007 when i started demo,it wasnt nothing like that..

Other thing that i dont like is that these days there's people who change teams like socks (you know who you are.), its like one day their in the team saying yeah this is great i will never change team and other day their already in some other team.. then their amused that why people are pretty mad for them.

I remember back that when  you went to some team,it wasnt a one day trip.. could be many months, even years before you changed team.

3rd is that now theres these guys,or should we say noobs who do f*cking stupid things without a reason, like votekick/ban someone out of the server, like whats the idea in it? Yeah i understand if like Teddy comes and vote's me then Nikopdr presses 1 but like that someone i dont even know votekicks/bans me without a good or even decent reason. And yeah these days the word ''SORRY'' is pretty much a must when you do a little mistake,if you dont remember to say it theres guys who start a big rage of it.. yeah i know its a word that should be always remembered (<- is that a word o_o),but hey we do mistakes, everyone does.. so what i would do is i would just carry on and see if that guy says sorry,or when the accident happens, i would say ''No problem''.

in the good ol' days everyone laughed for the accidents..

^Theres alot of differences between past and this day,it would a great thing to get them all solved but its not gonna happen. Not anymore.

I'm a licenced palyer since this year, but I was around all the things that happened in the past on S2.

I missed the old torque days to be honest, when there was alot of quality players, helping each other and doin' it just for fun.Now most of those players quitted LFS,so newbies came around and tried to be "IN" everything. There are some good guys, with skills and good personality that they're showing everyday, but also there are total "NOOBS" and they're ruining the atmosphere.

Even if I haven't got my S2 licence,I'd rather choose to get back at those ol'days. But as Aatu said, never gonna happen, not anymore.

years ago playing with toy cars was fun on the floor.

..

well also have to agree getting some new ppl who arent just that funny, lfs has got to many new ones lately(people), that is what makes this I belive.

I am not one of these "oldtimers" started late 07 at patch Y the one that changed lfs..

oh and - internet has also become more of an hating place lately.

Years ago... well.. 0.5Q.. was when i started. played a bit demo, it was interesting how good the physics were. (the first true sim i played).. crashers online on demo though, i wanted s2. then i guess i forgot about lfs. At around patch V i started over, a friend of mine gave me an S2 account. LFS became awesome for me.. I tried to get into Pure D but i couldn't get in cos i used a pad.. lol. neither could i get into D1, cos they're australian. So well.. i started cruising.  :-X
then i forgot about lfs again, for like a year... came back at patch X, couldn't remember my account's password, so bought myself a licence of my own. the one i currently use (i've seen my "old account" online after that... i guess my friend had stolen it from someone and then gave it to me..). Then i was in a racing team (TCD).. noticed that everyone around me are young helium kids, and kept asking stupid questions.. so i quit.

Then I got into DS and that's when LFS really started to get fun, big time.. then i got my G25 and well... here i am..

wait, this isn't what the topic is about.. the diffrerence then... well, back then, no one knew me, and i didn't know anyone. Now people know me and i know them, which is nice  ;D (even though you guys know me as a noob, but still).

Now most of those players quitted LFS,

It's because people get older and because LFS has no changes at all. When new patch with serious updates comes oldschoolers will be back. I'm sure about that.

Old LFS - a lot of updates, new LFS - no updates. The minor problem.

I would say, the Major problem!

Gonna add another post to that thread to add my 2 cents about the topic!!
