EDIT: to make this clear this thread is "about cars you drove yourself and to give a small personal review on them". Give them a rate from 1 to 10.
Lets see if this thread will go anywhere...
Last days I've seen a "what did you wear"-thread. Has this became a fashion forum...?! Petrolheads unite!
haha
only an idiot would take this statement serious
So I tought to create a "what did you drive"-thread. I know allot of guys here drive allot of interesting cars from time to time and I'd love to hear from them how they experienced them. Doesn't matter its your boss' his Continental GT or your uncles Lada. As long as it ain't your own car (to keep it a little objective) post what your experience was like.
Please post more than just "I drove an *fill in random car* today!". We'd like to know what it was like. Did it handle crap or really good? Did the doorhandles fell of as soon as you closed the door or does it fly over the road like a flying carpet?
I'll just kick it off I guess...

Nissan Juke DIG-T
Force Red 2WD Tekna Manual
Drove it not to long ago. Now, I have to admit I'm already a big fan of the normal Juke. First time I saw it I already liked the styling of it tough that really is a matter of taste. What I was affraid for however was its handling. A small SUV-ish car high on its wheels. I was already in fear of handling skills like I experience in the Daihatsu Terios before; turn in a corner to fast and I feels like its gonna tip over. But as soon as I got in I was pretty amazed how it sat. It didn't sit SUV-ish at all, infact you are reasonably low compared to the surrounding interior like the doorpanels and dashboard. This gives you a rather "sportcar"-feeling but the fact that it is still a pretty high car gives you great overview on the road. Than it was time to take it for a drive. A push on the start-button and the cars starts. Dispite being the top-range 1600cc turbo engine it sounds anything but sporty. It sounds like it could come straight from any other boring Corolla. The drive is pretty good in the DIG-T but not mind-blowing preformance wise. The 200HP doesn't seems to make this a great sprint-car as you'd might expect eventough its still rather quick ofcourse. Maybe its cause of the fact your sit-position is reasonably far above the ground compared to most other small, affordable, sporty cars in the 200HP range. But now there is the biggest fear I had... cornering in a high car. So we put the car in "Sport mode". (cause believe me in ECO-mode even a Kia Picanto will own you in a drag-race. The ECO-mode kills litterly all extra power out of the engine which also makes overtaking on a highway a nightmare). In Sport-mode however it seems that this car totally comes alive. Unlike many other brands with a Sport-mode that only adjust suspestion settings the Juke adjust your pedal reaction, steer reaction and more... All of the sudden this sloppy car turn into a small rocket for the better "trowing around"-fun. Turn into a corner hard and... barely NO BODYROLL. I am still amazed how the guys at Nissan did this. Most high cars with so little bodyroll have suspention hard as rock to keep the body from rolling. The Juke's suspension might be a little stiffer than most other compact-cars but is still very comfortable... and than there is that gearbox. What a lovely piece of engineering. The position of it is just perfect, the shifts it self are very short. VERY VERY short. Just before getting in the Juke I drove a Micra K12. Great cars but the gearboxes there are rubbish. Shifting in them is more like "I'll just push that gearstick there somewhere since the gear I want to select must be around here somewhere"... Not in the Juke, its gearbox handles perfect and its like you can completly read it out. A short and nice flick is all it takes. Its almost as good as the gearbox in the MX-5 (which in my opinion is one of the best manual gearboxes every made). Long story short. The DIG-T might not be a hardcore "hothatch on high heels" as I might expected it to be at first. However its handling is superb (especially for a "high" car). The Juke makes every corner a challenge... In the Sport-mode that is, cause If you put it in ECO you'd be better off walking. An other amazing thing is no matter how much abuse you'll give it the fuel consumption will not differenciate that much... Yup, I'm a fan...

WOT THE FOCK?!
nvm.
I drove a Fiat Uno without roof. We cut it off at the Schoolworkstation. Some 35hp somethin shyte thing, which is actually quite funny.
How it looks? Dont ask, childish crap chit. Orange with flowers drawn on it lol. The car reacts very good imo. But the gears are fcked haha. Its like you have to hit the gear knob to get a gear in.

I have driven my dad's Nissan Almera N14 several times. Although its a 13 year old car it feels like brand new to me, the steering wheel is so accurate and torque beginns to pull from 2000rpm. The suspension though because of its 13 years of usage feels like you are driving a boat
Generally it has been always a fun car to drive for me.

I'll join this too.
Nissan Bluebird was first car i drove, tho now it's siting on bricks @ my back yard. 2l D. It had some torque, but not much, and ride was too soft.
(not my pic)
Second car i drove was Renault Espace 2 (that's what i'm going to drive for whole summer................) 2.2l petrol engine, light car = fun, tho i has broken suspension in back, so now it's a boat
Audi A8 4.2L quattro. well that was epic fun to drive on snow, too back i had only 1 time in it, but that was epic fun !
Ford Glaxy Same as Espace, but more stiffer.
My sisters 530d e60 This thing is..... the best car i've driven soo far.
Mazda Premacy my driving school car. 2l TD not very manoeuvrable, feels abit like a boat, and heavy.

K, that's a nice idea this thread!
Since i had my licence not so long, i only drove/test 5 cars...(well i skip you the ****ty twingo)
So first time i drove something interesting was...porsche 996 carrera...yep, for a testing shiz with our friend (he's a prestige car seller) so honestly it is just great...just nothing to say against it...it was the convertible version:
Rate: 7,5 or 8/10
Second car: our maserati...well, believe it or not...even if top gear said that car was horrible...our spyder is just cOmpletely different from the coupe they tried...(i went for a ride in a coupe...it's just day and night...our car feels like a gransport...it really does...plus, it fukin goes like hell! Harder than the porsche...by miles! It's "tail happy" at every 90 degrees and more corners, but controlable (even if i was scared at first...normal, i just got my licence since one year)
So i still haven't tested it to its max...and nor to its limits...i'm just too unexperimented for that...but well, at least i've tried to floor it in a straight...lol...0 to 100kmh in 5 seconds...(they were a bit optimistic on paper) but we did a very close 5,4 seconds...and well, you feel the engine powerband pushing in every gears...from first to sixth! This is just impressive...you're sticked into the seat...plus it makes a massive wave of fabulous noise...that damn v8 with the quicksilver exhaust!!! Mamma mia!
Rate: a solid 8,5 or 9/10 (i haven't tested a better car yet...)
Third car: ferrari 308 gtb, (our friend car seller car) didn't pushed it as much as i wanted...but it is pure fun, that's slow, but it has an old school feeling, it's just very fun, clutch is heavy, handling is more than heavy...but precise! Brakes are great! Car is well balanced (feels agile and light, well it is light)
Rate: 6,5 or 7/10 (almost had more fun than in the porsche)
Fourth and fifth car: we used to have two mercedes a clk 320 cdi and a e320 cdi...well, the last is a limo...for taxi...lol but the engine they have...this is just wonderful...torquy, powerful, it really makes the car feel lighter than it is...the clk had a great chassis since it's a cut version of the e class...so it was precise and felt light!
Rate: 7/10 for both and more in terms of well being and comfort than sportivity.
So, in conclusion...i am for now...a big maserati fan...lol i think it is the best car i've ever driven...by far...
And i have driven all these cars...not only sat on the passenger seat...otherwise i could add an alfa romeo coupe bertone, a bmw m3 e36 etc or stuff like that (thx the "classic days" event for the ride on magny cours in the alfa)
I drove the maserati for one seqsion of 20 minutes on magny cours...believe me...that car is insane...just check the vids i did...
Well, that's it for now...we are going to south of france at the end of june, maybe we will try a ferrari 360 there...but not sure, i'll tell you how it felt if we do it and if i drive it of course.
all the pics, except the maserati are from the web, but i took exactly the same colors etc that i tried...

Great contribution Spinaker! That maserati must be an awesome grandsport.
Yea, to make this clear this thread is "

"
----------------------
Drove this black
Nissan 370Z Roadster
a couple of times. First time it I drove a Z34 was a 24th Anni-model in the snow. Well, drove... we had to push it since this modell didn't have snow-mode yet so would only spin the tires like crazy and go nowhere. Second time was better in this black Roadster. Once you get in the car right away feels massive. You are completely "build in". Some might say that this gives a safe feeling which it does; but I right away felt the lack of the real "open driving" sensation like in a MX-5/Barchetta. Also the upper-bar from the frontshield goes so far to the inside that when you are in your normal driving position you feel like you can tought it with your forehead. However the preformance, speed-wise, is on a whole other level... damn that thing is quick! It also has a nice low but not to screaming sound in it. I drove the automatic this time tough... eventough I'm normally not a fan of a automatic gearbox in the 370Z I think its a "must" when you want to drive it on a daily basis. Also drove the manual but its way to agressive in the gearing to drive it on a daily basis. Perfect for a occasional trackdays, but a hell in heavy prublic traffic. What also amazed me is how abnormal stiff the suspension is. Ofcourse its allot stiffer than allot of normal cars, but even on a flat, but brick, road I almost litterly got shaked like hell. However get a smooth asphalt road, give it some beans and you'll forget all that in just a second. Lovely car!

I've driven way too many cars so wont make the reviews long, and just list some that stick out in my mind
BMW E36 M3
Definetley a drivers car, and amazing sound as you put your foot down whilst throwing you back in your seat, downshifting is very good for the childish like myself just for that sound, handling is as most know...what you would expect from an M car.
Mitsibushi EVO V
One of my favs, was the first turbo'd 4WD car I had driven and I loved how responsive it was, at the time I was used to my S13 which when you accelerated you had turbo lag, the EVO was just right there, foot down and boost is waiting for you, handling obviously seemed like some kind of magic to me while comparing it with a shoddy S13, also quite the attention getter.
Toyota Supra 2jz manual
Very surprising car, you get in and you expect the norm from the typical japanese cars of its age...the feeling of outdated, this wasn't the case it felt like a brand new car, I have actually driven cars with under 1000miles and this Supra still felt like it was that little more fresh, wont lie I had trouble seeing out the back reversing and not really used to such a large car but again just loved the adrenaline that car gave.
Nissan Skyline R33
This was the first Skyline I had driven, a friend of mine kindly trusted me to take it out to experiance his recent engine build, 500bhp+ with a screamer pipe, it was a while before I could bring myself to return the vehicle...will admit I was a little nervous and actually stalled it I'm only human
not a fan of the interior...thats something that I need in a car, but...due to the price you can pick these up for it is allot of car for the money and I would definetley own one.
Actual car
Nissan 200SX S13
My own vehicle about 2 years ago, great fun and it's quite a risky feeling being inside...its hard to explain but cars with thick door panels, all the airbags etc I just feel too safe and for me thats boring...the S13's interior was in my eyes designed on a budget lol but thats what I like, the cars are very good for BHP/£ but if you was to get one, make sure it comes with the SR20, I had the CA18 and my experiance with this engine is it's not the strongest.
Actual car
Nissan 200SX S14
My current vehicle, it's a great all rounder...it's more reliable than the S13...infact the only trouble I've had with it is blown manifold gaskets which is nothing, very comftorble, comes with all the toys and actually a nice looking car if done right, I've not done a drift day with this car and most likely wont as I'm looking to sell it but it from what I've got out of it it feels more balanced and more on the ball than the S13 did, great cars.
Actual car
BMW E30 Sport Tech 1
This was the first car I ever owned, the car I got into right after passing my test and to date...the car that's had the most character..it left a lasting impression which has made me a true fan of the classic BMW, people here get sick of seeing them posted in the picture threads and generaly aren't big fans..all I will say to those people are...drive one, its the car I miss the most, words cannot explain!
Actual car

Btw i can bring some new test drive...today i took the 4s for a ride...well, that car just don't stop to amaze me...it's good everywhere, cornering speed is mindblowing and you don't even feel the corner! Only the g force reminds it to you! It has soo much grip! God i like that car...almost better than the maserati!
Rate: 8,5/10 (way better than the normal carrera i tested some months ago)
And i have another test drive...the Ariel Atom....yep! The guy was running on the track and he asked me if i wanted to drive it for a lap! First i did two or three laps as a passenger and then took the wheel...
Guyz...seriously, i can't even describe how fast that thing goes...i really can't...this is just too impressive...almost scary...i drove it like a grandpa lol
The acceleration, this is another world! Seriously! 0 to 100kmh in 2.9 seconds! This is just fukin insane! That car is the fukin devil but with wheels! I took a video when i was passenger of it, i'll post it as soon as i can...
But seriously, this car is surrely the fastest i'll ever drive...this was just unbelievable...
Rate: impossible...this is on another scale...on a completly different level of what you can think of speed...so yep...this is the most amazing car i've driven...and it will stay first for long i think...

Nice reports guys! Lets keep this thread alive...
I already liked the Atom but right now I want to drive it so bad! ^^
I drove it many times before but its been a while untill today when I drove the new Kia Sportage again.
I know that allot of people like the new look of it and it sure doesn't look bad. Alright, I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the LED-lights in the headlight... In fact I start to hate them more and more... They are becoming the new Altezza-lights! Brand like Audi, Nissan and KIA and such make these light way to strong in the presence. The only brand that seems to make nice "day-running-light-setups" (what-a-word! lol) is Citroën like in the new C5. But anyway, enough about the LED-rant. Back to the Sportage. Looks pretty good on the outside but as soon as you get in you know you are in a Korean car. The used materials look allot cheaper than for example in the Qashqai. Also the radio design seems like something from the late '90's. Also all buttons feel a bit dodgy and not very solid. But oh well, what can you expect for that price? After you get in you (atleast I do) notice that the interior is not very ergonomic. I'm a pretty avarge person in lenght and such so that can't be the excuse. The seats are adjustable but you never get into a good position for example you cant even lay your hands somewhere near the door while you still want to steer. If you lay it at the window-line all you blood runs out of your arm cause its so high and if the lay it on the pad low at the door you sit like a "chav in a tuned Corsa" cause its way to low. I had to drive the car for like 30 minutes and already my arms got tired of not being able to place them somewhere decent. Than as soon as you start to drive it things don't get much better. The engine is pretty noisy and the stock 1.6l is anything but fast. If you want to overtake on a highway it even feels underpowered at some times. And than there is the gearbox of which you need a map to find the gears cause the shifting is anything but direct.
My verdict? Looks nice, doesn't cost much but please save a little more and buy a decent car like a Qashqai or even a Koleos!
Rate: 5,5/10
Oh noes! Hide 'ya kids, hide 'ya wifes! Its a gawd-damn CUBE!
Ok, i'll give you a few seconds to scream "kill it with fire" and "my eyes! its burns!".
3.... 2..... 1...... alright... Done flaming? Cause I'm gonna shock you with what I am about to say...
I think the CUBE is a pretty good car! Yes, and I ain't even trollin' y0!
The looks of the Cube are ofcourse not of everybodies taste. Infact most people hate it.
I'm not one of them. I already liked the first 2 gens and this 3th one looks pretty funky in my opinion.
Well, I don't like the back-end with that "ass" sticking out, and the carpet on the dashboard is also quite "meh".
But besides the carpet on the dash the interior is so spacious and feels so big with that panorama roof!
And the seats are by far the most comfortable seats Nissan makes. The ride also feels very smooth... almost French.
However for some reason it just "looks" like it would handle like a boat, but thats not the case.
The ride is not fast but fast enough, and the steering is accually pretty sharp for such a car.
Even the gearbox is ok... On point tough... I believe its based on the same chassis as the Note. In the Note the seats are a little lower so the position of the gearstick is ok there. In the Cube it looks like the installed higher seats but didn't relocate the gearstick so it quite "down there". The don't really grab is easy enough as its a bit to far down. Besides that the quality on this thing is just plain simple "good". Another downside tough is the price. Which is a bit to steep in my opinion (just like Toyota's Urban Cruiser).
Second point is that the "square" shape and the pretty much vertical placed windshield mostly meens massiv wind noise. I remember driving a Daihatsu Materia where you couldn't even hear the radio on normal volume when driving over 120km/h. Strangly enough this isn't the case at the Cube. Good job engineers!
Verdict, Pretty decent, pricey and underrated car. INB4 paperbag. lol

Lets give this thread a bump again...
Drove the new
Citroën DS4 e-HDI EGS
And to be honest after driving the new C5 and the old C6 I really liked the big Citroën saloons as giving you unbeatable comfort and luxury for a cheap price. They drove as smooth as driving on a waterbed (altough the new C5 was allot stiffer to compete with the 3-series and A4). So getting in the DS4 I expected the car to be just that. The e-HDI is a very efficient "green-label" Diesel with a start-stop system. Eventhough this systeem works pretty well you DO notice it happening even when you don't pay attention. Unlike for example the Qashqai 1.6 ECO's. From the outside the car looks fantastic but the headroom in the back is another huge dissapointment. As is the fact that you cant open (!) the rear windows cause the doorpanel is too small to fit the window in. Now, Citroën says 99% op the people don't open their backwindows anyway but I can inmagine it beeing pretty annoying when you are driving to the south of France on a hot day with the kids in the backseat. Than the driving. At first I have to say that that semi-automatic EGS is a pain in the ass! I also don't get why on earth Citroën isn't yet using a CVT?! The EGS gearbox in automatic-mode just doesn't react like you would want it to. When you are driving away from the traffic lights for example its shifts-up way to early making the car extremely slow. If you than give a little bit more power nothing happens for a few seconds, then the car realeses the gear you were in and thinks for an other 2 seconds what gear to select next before revving the nuts of it and have everybody looking at you like you're a maniac. The handling of a big Citroën is as always a nightmare aswell but that mostly doens't matter cause the car is SO comfortable you don't even THINK of driving hard trough a corner. However Citroën decided that the DS4 should also attract VAG/Audi-buyers which prefer a more stiff setup so they made the DS4 pretty stiff aswell. This results in a crap handling car is crap comfort. Citroën.... I'm dissapointed! Now waiting till I get to drive the 200HP DS3 Racing... ^^

Range Rover Supercharged 2011
I had a go at it today again in the Range Rooney. I've heard Clarkson saying how Range Rover ruined the new looks of it. It's a rather of personal taste. The LED's gives it a modern look. Looks wise, it's a freaking Range, it's obnoxious big, commands respect and class. Interior is A1, I looooove the digital dashboard. It's crisp, functional, elegant. The GPS and the audio control aren't exactly "intuitive" per se. Leather, touch, finishing, fit is typical Range Rover: amazing.
How's the drive? It's obviously not a FD2-R but the supercharged 5.0L V8 can pick up speed pretty fast, it's almost scary. It's Cherooke SRT8 scary fast. I didn't get to test the legendary offroad capabilites but the streets of Montreal are crappy enough for me to catch a glimpse of its capability. Soaks up the bumps without drama. The air suspension is sick. I'd lower it just for fun. I heard you can remove safety brackets and hack into the programming to slam it.
Final verdict?
If you have this amount of money and you have Canadian/Norwegian winters? It's the best SUV money can buy
9.5/10
