Before you post any screenshots on the available threads, there's a few simple things you need to check...
- Make sure you save them as .JPG not .PNG or .BMP as these take forever to load up. This option is available in FRAPS as well if you're using it.
- If you're not going to thumbnail link your image to the full size picture in your post, make sure the maximum width of the picture is 800 pixels! Please do NOT post fullsize screenshots e.g (1680x1050px) straight into a post as this makes people have to scroll, even though the forum has a resize feature built in, please don't take too much advantage of it.
- Please use good recognised image hosting sites such as http://imageshack.us/ and http://tinypic.com/
I myself use Imageshacks thumbnail code on the forums, however I change the first linked URL in the code to the direct URL so when I click on the thumbnail it doesn't take me to another preview on imageshacks website, purely linking it to the full size picture.
Thankyou!*edit* People were pm'ing me about how to do this;I myself use Imageshacks thumbnail code on the forums, however I change the first linked URL in the code to the direct URL so when I click on the thumbnail it doesn't take me to another preview on imageshacks website, purely linking it to the full size picture.
Go to
http://imageshack.us/ and upload your picture.
After you've uploaded a picture you get the page full of the codes, select Thumbnail for forums (1) code and paste it into your post like this:
You see the first link in the code has an / after .jpg at the end, meaning it doesn't link to the fullsize picture, instead it links to the website like this:
http://img65.imageshack.us/i/01741theartofdrifting16.jpg/ <-
Change that url to the Direct URL which is
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/431/01741theartofdrifting16.jpgit's on the page you get after uploading your picture on imageshack, it's at the top and swap it with the other link so it looks like this:
Which makes this:

Now it links to the fullsize picture, not to the website.
