*TIP* Motion Blur Correction
« on: May 24, 2008, 02:28:46 PM »
*NOTE*
This is in relation to this tutorial:
http://www.lfsdrift.net/index.php?topic=2.0

Some people have asked me why I have to cut the layer??

Well if you cut the layer you won't have the ugly motion blur from the car.

With Layer Cut (good):

Without Layer Cut (bad):

How is this possible? when you motion blur the layer with the cut area, it will blur the background without the car, and it would look like this:

but if you blur with the car you will get that outter glow/blur (white fog as kei calls it.. haha :P ) and it would look like this:

In some cases you are able, and could do the second one, but most of the time you want to go for a professional look!

I hope this helped.

after cut out car from screen, you must copy layer as much as you wont see this pattern in background (with pasted car on it on other layer ofcoz.)

Sorry for bump.

Also i recommend to do it like this:

1. take a photo of the car and the BG
2. Let the car go off-picture
3. Take another screenshot. Place it as the lowest layer.
4. cut the BG off from the layer that contains the car.
5. then add motion blur to the lowest layer and vóila :D

Cross Works.
